Course Update!!!

After meeting with the City of Acworth and Cobb Police, we decided to make a couple of changes on the course to make the route a bit safer and more rider-friendly.

Now, instead of turning left onto Nance Road, cyclists will continue straight through the heart of historic Acworth. Cyclists will then make a left onto the Access Road just past the overpass and then a right onto Lake Acworth Drive. Now cyclists will ride over the bridge that separates Lake Acworth and Lake Allatoona.

The course remains the same until the Burnt Hickory Road section. You should now continue straight onto Old Mountain Road. Cue cards have been printed and will be given to cyclists prior to wheels down.

Bright yellow arrows will be on the course at every turn to ensure you don’t get lost.

Thanks again for your support!

Welcome our new sponsor-Firehouse Subs!

The Warrior Nation is excited to welcome Firehouse Subs to the NCHS Warrior Metric Century family! I met with Mark Jones, owner and operator, and had a great meeting. He is very excited to be part of this event and looks forward to helping feed some hungry cyclists! Each cyclist will have a freshly prepared sub and chips waiting for them when they finish their ride. Believe me when I say you will not be disappointed at the quality! They made this Ironman very happy with the Italian Combo. Check out their spotless shop at the below address and say hello to Mark Jones, owner and operator, and a new Warrior Nation supporter!

Atlanta Cycling and The Warrior Nation have teamed up!

I’m happy to annouce that Atlanta Cycling (the best bike shop in Atlanta) has teamed with the Warrior Nation to make our event a success! Hope to see you on May 8th at 0800!

We’re moving the date!

Wow, this has some winter! Normally in Georgia, cyclists are blessed with good weekends to ride and train outdoors. Not so much this year. If it’s not raining and sleeting, the winds are howling and the temps are in the”I don’t have that much Lycra” range. Knowing that, we decided to move the date to May 8th at 0800.

The later date gives cyclists more time to train and to make this event fun as opposed to a Sufferfest. I hope to see everyone out there as it’s going to just be a great day in west Cobb to ride a bike.

Here is how you register for the event.  Hope to see you wheels down on March 27th!

Be sure to tell your friends and fellow athletes about our ride.  We’re going to have a great day out there!

2010 Proposed Course

If you are familiar with west Cobb or North Georgia, then this course should really make you happy.  It could best described as rolling with some long flats.  Those flats will let the peleton form again and recover.  Cobb County Police will be on the course to make it safe.
